On 12 August 1991, Andrzej Skiba created a company with a passion and a dream and began his journey with just 12 people and 20 products. On the same day, we opened our first shop in Chojnice, beginning to build something more than a business – a unique bond with people for whom taste and quality have become an everyday reality.
Just one year after starting the business, we expanded the plant and opened the first wholesale outlet in Bydgoszcz so that our meat and cold cuts could reach a wider range of customers. It was soon joined by a wholesale outlet in Koszalin, opening up new opportunities for growth and building the foundations for our further expansion.
Our production increased by 50% and the plant expanded by 220 m². A key moment in 1993 was the launch of our own pig slaughtering in Czersk, which allowed us to control the quality and freshness of our products even better. It was a time of bold decisions that have driven our development.
We celebrated five years in business and our products have won acclaim across the country. We have received many awards and prizes in prestigious charcuterie competitions, which have recognised the exceptional quality and taste of our products. Our team already comprised 229 people, and our shared success gave us the energy to continue growing.
In 2001, we took the key decision to build a modern processing plant, which opened two years later. Alongside this important step, we designed a new logo, symbolising the modernisation and dynamic development of the Skiba brand.
In 2005, we took the decision to build a modern pig slaughterhouse, which we launched just two years later. This provided us with our own raw material for production, fully controlled at every stage. Today, it is one of the most modern plants in Poland and Europe and sets standards in the industry.
In 2010, we took another step towards modernising our operations. We modernised the plant, expanding it with a high-bay cold store, supporting our quality and efficiency.
2012 opened up new markets and opportunities. We obtained a license to export to China, Russia, Singapore and South Korea, and soon afterwards also to the USA. Dynamic export growth meant that in 2015 almost half of our products went to foreign markets, strengthening our position worldwide.
In 2016, we converted to a joint-stock company (spółka akcyjna). The company continues to operate as a Polish family brand based on mutual respect, tradition and development. The legal change has opened up new opportunities, but our values have remained the same.
Since 2018, we have been implementing Lean Management processes to manage the company even more efficiently. We visualise goals, optimise operations and continuously improve processes, with a focus on smart growth and opening up new opportunities. This is the next step in building a modern and dynamic company.
2021 was a special year for us – we celebrated our 30th anniversary as a Polish family company. Three decades of continuous development and quality work is our success. In all these years, there has not been a year in which we did not invest in expanding and upgrading our facilities to constantly set new standards in the industry.
In 2024, in the spirit of continuous development, we refreshed our brand image. The new logo proudly highlights the year of the company’s founding, and our claim “Connected by taste” has become an expression of the values that define our business. The redesigned packaging communicates even better who we are – a Polish, family-owned company from Kashubia.
